Daddy Daughter Dance

Mr Bird and Doodle had their very first Daddy Daughter Dance with Activity Days.
They wore fancy clothes and danced the night away in the cultural hall at the church.

Doodle has been looking forward to this day for weeks.
She even showered this morning without the usual fits of protest.
She had planned what she would wear and had it sitting out on her bed all day long, just waiting for 6:00 to come.

She does not know how lucky she is to have such a wonderful dad.
When I was her age I was borrowing other people's dads for the daddy daughter days.
It was either our home teacher or my best friend's dad.
It does my heart good to see the two of them having so much fun together.
When they got home I asked Doodle how it was.
She looked up and tilted her head to one side and said with a sigh,
"Perfect!"
She would hardly let her daddy go when it was bed time.
I had to tickle her to get her Velcro arms to release from around his neck.
As she headed up the stairs she proclaimed,
"This has been the best night of my life!"

What a dashing couple.
Watch out girl, he's still mine!

It was so much fun watching the Dads dance with their little girls. I smiled as I read your post - so glad she thought it was perfect, that's what we as leaders were hoping for :) Becky H

That is so sweet!

When I was a kid, I always just skipped the Father/Daughter stuff rather than borrowing someone else's dad.
